Blogtober day 3

You may have seen my recent post about my fat freezing treatment at Devonshire House, if not, you can have a read here. Whilst there, I also had a medical facial with Julia. In the past I’ve always just had standard facials at spas, salons, etc so I was curious as to what this involved.

The treatment started off with an in-depth consultation of my skin. We discussed eating and drinking habits, my current skincare routine and then fully analysed my skin. I learnt a lot about my skin during this. In the past, I’d always loved my freckles appearing during the summer months but Julia explained that actually, freckles aren’t a good thing. Instead, they’re a sign of damaged skin from too much sun exposure.

Onto the facial…Every facial that Julia does is tailored to the individual’s skin. As mine is sensitive Julia was really mindful of this and used products that would not flare up my skin. I normally come up in spots or a rash after a facial so I was delighted when I left with glowing skin.

After cleansing, gently exfoliating and toning my skin. I had the LED light mask on my face. Julia explained that there is a number of different light types suitable for each skin type. My skin was most suitable for red LED light so I laid there relaxed with this mask over my face. I didn’t know what to expect that this would feel like but it was just a gentle warmth and very nearly sent me asleep.

After my facial with Julia I have vowed to get my skincare routine in check and start properly looking after my skin rather than ignoring it. What skincare tips do you have?
