February goals

January is finally over. I know 31 days isn’t really a long time but is it just me or did it feel more like it lasted 310 days? I normally love January but this year it dragged far too much. I’d set myself loads of goals for January but for one reason or another, they didn’t happen…oops. Thank goodness that February is finally here!

So, here I am again setting my goals for the month. Let’s hope this month goes more to plan!

1. Eat healthily – I was doing so well at jumping on the the whole new year, new me, healthy eating bandwagon. Well, I was doing well for three days or so anyway. At the start of the month I lost five pounds, felt motivated and then lost that motivation. With Thailand only four months away I really do need to get my arse in gear and find the determination again. So, at least by writing it here I’ll have to stick to it. If you see my eating chocolate, sharing pictures of my takeaway or tweeting about cocktails…stop me!

2. Get back in the gym – Another goal that I stuck to at first and soon lost the motivation for. In my defence, this goal did last for a couple of weeks but I really do need to stick to it. As much as I describe myself as chunky yet funky, we all know I’d feel far more better once I’ve toned up and lost some of my excess chub. As well as losing weight to improve my confidence, working out also helps my condition so if that’s not enough to spur me on then I don’t know what is.

3. Raise some money for charity – My brother is running the London Marathon this year for Children with Cancer UK. As the more organised of the two, it’s my job to organise a quiz night to raise some money to help him reach his £2000 fundraising target. I never like the lead up to organising these types of events but when I realise how much money has been raised for the worthy causes it always makes me feel very very proud. Oh, and if you’d like to sponsor him please do! 

4. Try some new recipes – Since Christmas I seem to have lost my love of cooking and baking and trying new recipes. At the moment, it seems like more of a chore than something I enjoy. In February, I want to find this love again and try out some new recipes. Follow my Instagram to watch me at least attempting some new dishes!
