Designer Clothes – Edgy but Wearable…

December 2, 2011 |  by Lissa  |  Fashion  |  Share

I really enjoyed writing the last post which focused on designer fashion; a substantial move away from my usual cosmetics that come in under £30 most of the time! I have an inbuilt interest in fashion, not because I feel I have any great talent at it or that I have a fabulous wardrobe that warrants much attention or admiration. I like writing and reading about fashion for the same reasons I love make up so much, mainly the ability to transform. Not just the way you look on the outside but who you feel too.

It sounds awfully self-centred to base the whole outlook and attitude towards your day on how you look…but that is generally how I feel and I know I’m not the only one. If you leave in a rush you haven’t had time to wash your hair, pick out a flattering outfit or spend as much time on you make up then personally it would set the tone for my day, rightly or wrongly. If I leave feeling confident and comfortable in what I’m wearing, I like my hair and makeup then I automatically have a more positive and jovial attitude towards my day.

There is also nothing better than getting your hands finally on something you have been lusting after for a long time especially in my case shoes and coats. I love them! As of yet I have not had the pleasure of walking out in a pair of designer shoes that I have lusted after but hey, there’s still plenty time. Oh imagine it…

Referring back to the title of this post I thought I would include a focus on a particular designer which I feel is edgy, designer and wearable which is not always the case. Isabel Marant who began as an accessories designer in the late eighties, releasing her full ready to wear collection just five years later. Now an established fashion house clothing some of the biggest names including: Kirsten Dunst, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Rachael Bilson (my favourite!).

Isabel Marant is known as an edgy, indie and now cult status brand known for her ever so cool slouchy knits and strong patterns off set with sharp tailoring and accessories.

I picked a few of my favourite pieces that I would just love to get my hands on.
